NOTICE OF RESCHEDULED COMMITTEE/REGULAR BOARD MEETING
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Committee and Regular Board Meeting of the Board of Park Commissioners of the Foss Park District, Lake County, Illinois, previously scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, has been rescheduled.
THE RESCHEDULED REGULAR MEETING will instead take place on:
- New Date: Wednesday, September 23, 2026
- Time: Committee Meeting 6:00 PM/Regular Meeting 7:00 PM
- Location: Community Recreation Center, 1730 Lewis Avenue, North Chicago, IL 60064

FOSS PARK BEACH — OPEN
Foss Park Beach is officially OPEN for swimming, wading, and all other activities.
The Lake County Health Department has informed us that a recent water testing confirmed that Foss Park Beach has tested clear of E. coli.

Foss Park District Commissioner 2027 Election
Notice of Election Calendar: Consolidated Election April 2027
The Foss Park District is currently seeking candidates for park board commissioner for the April 6, 2027, consolidated Election. The office of park board commissioner is non-partisan and interested candidates can pick-up nominating packets at the Community Recreation Center located at 1730 Lewis Avenue, North Chicago. The Foss Park District will have two -6 year full-term seats available. No person shall be eligible to serve as park commissioner unless that person is a qualified elector of the park district as has resided within the District at least one year prior to election or appointment. Petitions can begin circulation on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Courtesy candidate packets can be picked up at the Community Recreation Center during the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday and are available online at fosspark-district.org. All completed nomination papers should be filed at the Community
Recreation Center located at 1730 Lewis Avenue, North Chicago.
The dates and hours for filing nomination papers are as follows:
Monday November 16, 2026 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Tuesday November 17, 2026 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Wednesday November 18, 2026 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Thursday November 19, 2026 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Friday November 20, 2026 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Monday November 23, 2026 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Simultaneous Filer Lottery will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Community Recreation Center, if necessary.
Any objections to filed nomination papers are also to be filed at the Community Recreation Center located at 1730 Lewis Avenue, North Chicago. The dates and hours for filing objections are as follows:
Tuesday November 24, 2026 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Wednesday November 25, 2026 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Monday November 30, 2026 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Tuesday December 1, 2026 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Wednesday December 2, 2026 8:00 AM to NOON

Community Center
Foss Park District has a vibrant community center which serves as the hub for activities in the park. The center houses a library, art gallery and auditorium, hosting events such as plays, lectures and music concerts. It also provides access to many recreational options such as table tennis and pool tables, foosball tables, video games and arcade machines.
